Pillars for Progress

Digital equity and AgeTech are the foundation of The Change Factor’s work - because access to technology is not longer optional, it’s essential for health, connection, and economic survival. AgeTech includes products, services, and systems that support healthy aging, independent living, social connection, caregiving, and overall well-being as people age. We believe aging communities must not be left behind in the digital revolution. From telehealth and online banking to civic engagement and remote work, technology shapes every aspect of modern life. Yet older adults - especially in low-income, rural, or marginalized communities - face systemic barriers to access, literacy and inclusion. We work to close the digital divide through advocacy, community training, intergenerational learning models, and policy change. Our goal is simple but bold: ensure that every older adult has the tools, confidence, and opportunity to participate fully in a connected world.

As we age, brain health and mental wellness become essential to preserving independence, dignity, and quality of life. Yet too often, cognitive decline, depression, anxiety, and isolation are treated as inevitable aspects of aging instead of urgent public health priorities. At The Change Factor, we center brain health as a pillar of aging equity — advocating for early intervention, culturally responsive care, and programs that nourish emotional resilience. From dementia prevention to grief support, we uplift strategies that protect the mind, nurture the spirit, and combat the stigma surrounding mental health in older adults. Because thriving in later life isn’t just about living longer — it’s about living well, with clarity, connection, and purpose.

Chronic disease management is deeply influenced by the environments where people live, work and age — environments shaped by powerful commercial forces. From food deserts and pharmaceutical pricing to digital inaccessibility and biased medical technologies, the Commercial Determinants of Health (CDOH) play a critical role in determining who gets sick, who gets care, and who gets left behind. At The Change Factor, we approach chronic disease not just as a clinical issue, but as a structural one. We advocate for accountability in industries that profit from poor health outcomes and invest in programs that build self-efficacy, expand access to care and prioritize prevention. By addressing the root causes — economic, political, and commercial — we help aging communities manage chronic disease with dignity, knowledge, and power.

Advocacy is at the heart of The Change Factor’s mission — we exist to challenge the systems that marginalize aging populations and to rewrite the policies that shape how we grow older. Through strategic outreach, community engagement, and evidence-informed policy work, we elevate the voices of older adults — especially those often overlooked in public discourse. We advocate for equitable access to healthcare, technology, housing, and economic security, while holding institutions accountable for for the commercial and structural determinants of aging. Our work spans from the grassroots to the legislative floor, building coalitions, shaping narratives, and ensuring that aging is not an afterthought in policymaking, but a central pillar of justice and social progress.
Aging is not a retreat — it’s a rising. Each year adds wisdom, power, and purpose. When you center aging, you don’t fade — you lead.
Delivering Programs that are
Creative. Empowering. Sustainable.
Our goal is to develop empowering and sustainable programs and information that address the unique physical, mental, and social health needs of aging individuals and advocate for those in siloed, marginalized, and under-resourced communities. Our interventions are grounded in research, informed by lived experiences, and designed to promote autonomy, well-being, and connection.
